At a critical crossroads

We stand at a pivotal moment in U.S. history where reproductive choice, including the right to safe, legal abortion, is at greatest risk since the Supreme Court ruling on Roe v. Wade in 1973. In the last month, we have witnessed the nomination and rushed confirmation process of an ultraconservative, Amy Coney Barrett, to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the highest court. With the swearing-in today of Associate Justice Barrett, conservatives on the Supreme Court now have a 6-3 majority. This is an ominous development which will affect Supreme Court decisions for decades. Justice Barrett is likely to vote against everything that our great icon, RBG, fought for during her long and distinguished career—sexual and reproductive rights, women’s equality, LGBTQ+ rights, immigrants’ rights, workers’ rights, and equal access to affordable health care, education, employment, and more.

This year’s election on November 3rd has never been more critical. We must do everything possible to get people to vote for public officials at all levels who uphold our democratic principles, including equal rights, justice, and opportunity for every American!!
