Mexico’s Supreme Court’s unanimous ruling today to decriminalize abortion is a great victory for women’s reproductive rights! This landmark decision is the culmination of years of activism by abortion rights advocates and will hopefully lead to the liberalization of restrictive abortion laws across Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
As we look forward to celebrating International Safe Abortion Day on September 28, it is important to remind everyone that abortion is essential health care for women and girls and a fundamental human right. No one should be denied this care and basic right!
